ROMANY ROWELL

BASED IN BRISTOL

I'm a freelance Editor based in the UK, with over 10 years of experience crafting commercials, branded content, documentaries, and narrative films. Working across the full post-production process, I combine strong visual storytelling with compelling emotional narratives that connect audiences to the heart of a story, delivering work for clients including Spotify, eBay, ASOS, Audible, National Geographic, The Guardian, Vogue, and many more. At the heart of my work is a passion for human stories. I'm particularly drawn to projects that explore contemporary culture and society, with a strong interest in stories centred on women and underrepresented perspectives.

Before working as an independent freelancer, I have worked in-house at award-winning agencies and production companies including Byte/DEPT, Unreasonable Studios (Anomaly), and Pavilion Works. Recently I edited a Royal College of Nursing's brand campaign, which won Gold in the Corporate Cause category at the Smiley Charity Film Awards. My narrative work includes the short film Blue Violet (dir. Josie Charles), which screened at 20 international film festivals, including BFI Flare and SXSW London, and won Best Story at Sunrise Film Festival. I also edited the BFI-funded short film Win (dir. Steph Tari Odu), starring Shaniqua Okwok (It's A Sin) and Martins Imhangbe (Bridgerton), which screened at British Shorts and Raindance Film Festival.
